Three Chinese Air Freight Carriers Into One
International freight carriers operating in China's domestic air cargo market could be getting a little more competition from Chinese-based air freight carriers in the future. Reports coming out of the Chinese air freight industry indicate that the Chinese government has appointed a task force to establish a shareholding structure for a new airline that would be formed from the air freight carrier operations of Air China, China Eastern and China Southern.

This idea would certainly form a new air freight carrier that would probably have a better chance of competing with international companies for China's domestic air freight business and the international air freight business that China covets. This news must have been a little concerning to officials at the three Chinese air freight carriers that have been linked to the possibility of forming a new Chinese air freight firm comprised of their current cargo divisions though. Especially since China Southern has recently been talking with people with the Sky Team Cargo alliance, according to sources. Air China will be looking at the recent moves by the Chinese government with a little wonder and might be thinking about putting any plans they have on hold, until they know exactly what the government in China has planned.

The Sky Team Cargo alliance is made up of AeroMexico Cargo, Air France/KLM Cargo, Alitalia Cargo, Czech Airlines Cargo, Delta Cargo, and Korean Air Cargo. An alliance of air cargo specialists that would certainly boost China Southern's position in the world of air freight, but it might be a partnership that was never meant to be? We'll have to wait and see what happens in the future to see if China actually forms a single air cargo entity from the air freight operations of China Southern, Air China and China Eastern and what happens with any budding relationship between China Southern and the Sky Team Air Cargo alliance.

Ocean Freight Carrier Takes Flight
Ocean freight carriers ship freight of every size, shape and consistency, including liquids, solids and even gases all the way around the world on a daily basis. Particular types of freight, depending on the size, shape and consistency of the cargo will also have specific shipping requirements that often requires the use of specially designed ocean freight vessels for different types of freight.

You might be surprised that during the past two years of rough financial seas for overseas shipping companies that in Singapore they have witnessed the growth of a major new player in the tanker industry, during the same period of time.

There were probably few in the ocean freight shipping industry that figured they would be so successful, so early, in their business adventure. But when a group of former members of FR8 management decide to step out into the brave new world of the product tanker sector of the ocean freight shipping industry, and seemingly take flight upon arrival, it's hard not to notice.

Navig8 has taken the ocean freight carrier industry by storm in the past three years. Defying the odds and desires of competitors and becoming the player to watch in a worldwide poker game between overseas shipping companies and impressing the competition and skeptics who are starting to think differently about this ocean freight carrier that has continued to grow even while riding-out the heavy waves of the rough financial seas upon which they began their journey.

Starting life as an ocean freight carrier in the business of transporting products to destination using its tankers. Navig8 has grown into a firm with over 100 tankers of various types under its management, including chemical tankers and VLCCs, along with the products tankers with which Navig8 started life.

What's next for Navig8? The company is planning on continuing its grow and could be taking a few more tanker pools under its protective wing in a few months time. At present, Navig8 is reported as being in control of from 2 to 6 tanker pools, with the possibility of more in the future.
