Firms Using Air Freight Carrier Services More
The air freight carrier industry of the world has been growing at rates in Asia that are unusual for the time of year, according to many professionals around the world in the business of shipping air freight to destination. The latest reports out of Asia have air freight shipments being transported between Asia and the rest of the world at a rate that is unusually strong, according to the professionals that ship freight, and the rising freight rates during the past eight or nine months hasn't really stopped shippers from using air freight carrier services. This is great news for the worldwide air freight industry and it certainly would seem to indicate that the freight industry of the world is beginning to pick up momentum and we could be setting new records for volumes in all sectors of the freight carrier industry as we head further into the century of the environment in the United States of America.

Some air freight carriers operating in Asia are reporting turnover of close to 16 percent in the first six months of 2010 from the numbers experienced in the first six months of 2009 and growth in their air freight volumes by around 30 percent on all trade routes, but especially on routes that travel between the Asia-Pacific and other regions of the world. Air freight volumes out of Hong Kong and Shanghai have been the star of the show, while the demand for air freight services to and from the Indian-subcontinent has lagged just behind, but are still very strong, according to sources. Hi tech products and raw materials for manufacturing and other business activities apparently lead the way in volumes and it appears that there could be some companies shifting from using ocean freight carrier services to air freight carrier services due to pressure from the logistics side of the freight shipping business.

Singapore announced the other day that it had just concluded talks with Barbados, Brazil, Jamaica and Rwanda on an open skies agreement that should see more air freight carriers from these nations fly into and out of Singapore in the days ahead. This means that currently Singapore has an open skies agreement with 40 nations around the world, a fact that definitely makes it more attractive for air freight carriers to operate in Singapore. It should also make it easier for air freight carriers of the world to do business in Singapore, which is going to increase available air freight services for customers into and out of Singapore, as well as make Singapore a much more attractive place to do business out of for the world's air freight carriers.

Sources indicate that this news means existing direct air links with Singapore will allow businesses in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean to move air freight to more destinations around the world by using Singapore's air connections to the Asia-Pacific regions of the world. Presently, there are no direct air links connecting Singapore and Latin America or the Caribbean, while air flights to Kenya and South Africa from Singapore are currently being offered by Singapore Airlines Cargo. Meanwhile, the latest sources on the wire indicate that Singapore has also just concluded talks with Fiji on an open skies agreement for air freight movements and other services. This news is going to increase air freight capacity to these regions and this is definitely going to be attractive to some businesses in the regions in question.
